hungry wolf
speaking from the beast within
a hungry wolf
walks through my skin
turns me wild
till nothing fits.
my heart is a beast
but you want me in pants?
no.
and by the way
these cream walls are suffocating.
don’t run after me.
i’m the summer chasing bees
i’m the honey dripping sustenance
i’m the tulip in your poem
begging for something
anything
brave
come, reach through the sinew
shake my spine
touch the grief stuck to my pelvic floor.
god. i am angry with you.
the monsters stole sissy
(you let them)
now you want me calm??
but you saw us!
limbs tangled
we danced
we danced
the tangerine carpet our stage.
get me to the woods.
stat.
that’s not right.
get me nine inch nails
and eight inch heels.
bring me a spotlight
a breathless rain
witness my rage
skin shadow lit red.
i can’t stomach this dream
i’m talking starbucks coffee
celebrity perfume
those black friday sales
aisles crammed
five thousand cereals
i scream.
this body needs blood
bone
bite
and by the way
your kale cranberry salad
leaves me
starved.
xx,
Christina
